About Our Artists
Even though FACE Fine Arts is in its infancy, the founder artist, Lynn Rocks has found growing success at various outlets throughout England, ranging from her artwork being stocked at Townsgate Gallery in Poole, Dorset to the Art House Gallery in Kelso in the Scottish Borders. Townsgate are currently holding an exhibition of her work and it was through the Art House, Kelso that her original work was presented at The Sage, Gateshead at the 2009 Art Fair and attracted many positive comments and sales.
Pebbles, Art Café in Allendale, Northumberland, have just taken pieces of artwork from Lynn and she is currently working on a collection of artwork with a local theme for an exhibition that will take place in Fenwicks Department Store in Newcastle. This artwork is painted in her distinctive style of the piece being heavily textured, capturing energy, movement and light and depicts scenes of Bamburgh Castle, the coast at Northumberland, Tynemouth and Roker, moorland in County Durham, poppy fields near Durham City, to name but a few.
Lynn takes her main inspiration from nature. She draws from the breathtaking and endless colour palette that Mother Nature uses effortlessly. Lynn loves the colour that ranges from the most daring, rich and vibrant to the softest, subtlest shades.
It is the sheer magnificence of nature that enthrals and mesmerises Lynn, having such a profound effect, she is inspired to create works that capture some of the mood, energy and light from the greatest artist of all, Mother Nature herself.
Artist’s Profile
Lynn Rocks – Is essentially, a self taught artist living and working in the North East of England, where she has spent her whole life surrounded by the wonderful countryside, moorland, woodlands, rivers and waterways that rural County Durham has to offer.
This, along with frequent visits to nearby coastal areas and her love of ‘heart lifting’ latino music and dance, has coloured her art with movement, energy and light, allowing for pure and simple snapshots of nature to be painted with passion and an emotion so strong as to reach out from the painting.
Her inspiration mainly comes from natural subjects, with compositions ranging from: tactile, ‘sculptured’ florals; to images of the human form, which instil a sense of longing for the honest and simple pleasures in life; to crisp sweeping seascapes, which let the viewer imagine the fresh sea breeze blowing through their hair; and sultry, warming sunsets that ensure the spectator is left in awe and in no doubt at all about the infinite wonder of Mother Nature’s glory.
Here at FACE Fine Arts, we are in the process of bringing more artists onboard. Watch this space for future signings.
